September Favourites 2015

September Favourites 2015

It’s that time of the month where us bloggers take a look through our beauty draws and pick out some products we either discovered or absolutely loved this month. As you can see from my collection of products, I haven’t chosen any direct makeup bits to include in this post. That’s not because I didn’t love any, but because I’ve found myself reaching for more skincare and haircare this month as the weather changes.

I’m going to stop blabbing now and get right into the September faves!

Skincare stuff

The Body Shop // Coconut Milk

This has been a firm favourite of mine for a few years now, and I think I’m now on my third bottle. It’s a lightweight moisturiser that smells SO STRONGLY of coconut. If you don’t like coconut this product will make you want to run for the hills… I’m not kidding. However, I have a bit of an obsession with coconut. Think about anything that has a coconut scent or taste, and you can be rest assured that I have it.

This bottle lasts me a good 4 months or so, and is a steal at only £8. I reach for this everyday and layer my perfume over the top, and am often told that I either smell like an actual coconut or a bottle of Malibu. Both of these comments make me a very happy bunny!

The Body Shop // Bouncy Sleeping Mask

The Body Shop’s Bouncy Sleeping Mask is part of their Drops of Youth range, and at a price of £24 you may think I’m a bit cray cray for buying into this. But trust me, a little goes a long way. Bloggers like Zoella raved about this product, so naturally I had to give it a go and I’m SO glad I did. I use this a couple of nights in a row every week, and it honestly makes such a difference.

I’m not very good with the science-y stuff, but this mask is supposed to have Edelweiss stem cells in it which help to renew your skin whilst deeply moisturising it. The mask itself is quite literally bouncy, which is why it comes with a handy little spatula. If you haven’t got this, you have to try it. I will definitely be repurchasing when it eventually runs out!

Bio Oil

An oldie but a goodie. Bio Oil is known for being used by pregnant women to fade scars and stretch marks. However, a lot of people don’t know that it’s a fabulous skincare item to keep in your cupboard. I’ve got a bit of scarring from having spots as a teen, and this clears them right up.

When I feel like I’ve had a bad skin week or my skin is a bit dry, I’ll cleanse my skin and then apply this and sort of massage into my face – and then go to sleep! In the morning my skin looks plump and makeup glides on. I usually grab mine from Boots for £8.99 , and the bottle lasts ages!

Girl look at her hair

Tresemme // Youth Boost

In my opinion, Tresemme have the best hair styling products you can get. I’m not so much a fan of their shampoo or conditioner, but I probably have owned almost all of their styling products at some point or another. This little bottle is £7.29.

This one is a must have for me. It’s called an ’emulsion spray’, and I use it every day. After I get out the shower, I’ll spray it in my roots and then blow dry for good volume and lift. After I style my hair with hot tools, I will spray this in my roots again and in the curls for extra lift. Plus, on second day hair I’ll use this for a boost. As you may be able to tell, this product doesn’t create build-up, but it does give a lot of volume.

Aussie // 3 Miracle Oil

I believe Aussie’s 3 Miracle Oil is a new one to their range of haircare, but I love it already. It has three oil’s in it (as the name suggests) which are Australia Macadamia Nut Oil, Australian Jojoba Seed Oil and Avocado Oil in it. It smells delicious.

I actually use a bit of this all over my hair before I shower and have noticed it actually makes a massive difference to the softness of my hair. I then pop it in before I blowdry for extra soft hair. For £9.99, this is a little bottle of absolute heaven.

Beauty bits

Urban Decay // All Nighter

I featured the Urban Decay All Nighter spray in my “What’s in my Makeup Bag” post, and I’ve still been loving it throughout the month of September. I do use this everyday, which is a bit naughty considering the £21 price tag. BUT in all fairness, I don’t know how I ever lived without it.

I’ve been putting this product to the test in the typical British rain when walking into the office, and my makeup stays put all day. I’m massively surprised as I’m one of those people who rests their chin on their hand at my desk, and I’ve noticed if I don’t wear this my foundation will wipe off, but if I do it doesn’t budge. Just amazing!

Essie // Wrap Me Up

I think this is the perfect colour for the Autumn/Winter transition. A creamy white, this is one of Essie’s matte polishes. I love it on long squared nails, and think it goes with absolutely any outfit. Grab yours for the usual price of £7.99. Such a classic polish that I’m sure to be reaching for throughout this season.

St Tropez // Gold Skin Illuminator

I’ve had this laying around in my draws for a while. I’m a massive fan of St Tropez tanning mousse’s, however I haven’t quite found a use for it until recently. Ladies and gentleman, this is the most amazing cream to use for strobing. This little gem is on sale in Debenhams for £8.40 at the moment, RRP is £12.

Either mix a little pea sized bit into your foundation before applying, or dabble a bit in the area’s you want to highlight before you apply your foundation. It adds such a glow to the skin without looking like an absolute disco ball. LOVE.
